How to Wear 1 Piece 3 Ways: The Perfect Jegging

Spring is here!

Which means spring cleaning – out with the old and in with the NEW! I’ve invested for the first time in a pair of jeggings from !it Jeans … Basically, it’s jean + legging, hence the name “jegging”. Joe’s makes a pair which retail for $82 to $98 at high end department stores.I got mine for $78 from !it Jeansnot bad at all.

A pair of good jeans is needed in one’s closet – one word “versatile”.  My current pair of denims I throw on when I’m in a rush, is here. But, I’m trying out !it Jeans dark denim jeggings. I’m literally wearing them right now, and … have to say they’re pretty comfy comfy and perfectly stretchy stretchy (I can cross my legs “yey”).

It’s saturday and my spring cleaning continues. I thought I’d play a little dress up :) Here you go …

Put on some heels and voilà a night out! I think the hat gives that staple denim-and-blacktop-with-black-pumps outfit a bit of flare. no?

Put on sneakers and voilà a day out in town – in my case, a day at school. I’m more into basics so white and denim is a perfect match in my book.

Put on some booties and voilà! I say, this totally works during the day and night – with night, I’d probably accessorize MORE!

Holiday Inspired Designer Nails

The holidays are right around the corner, so I decided to get a bit festive and decorate my nails in white and red :)  The last time I got my nails did, my inspiration was Betsey Johnson. I normally gravitate towards ribbons, bows, hearts, and shiny-shiny things. As silly as this sounds, these nails put me in a cheerful mood! Other than, 1) not being able to type as fast on my iphone and mac book and 2) having a hard time picking up paper or my credit card from the floor. These nails are great :)
Here are some other nail designs.

New York Update

IMG_4085My stay in New York City is half way done…

And I have mixed and confusing feelings about this. On one thought, I could live here. The city is vibrant and contagious, I can already see that I’m slowly becoming consumed by this city’s spectacle of what it has to offer. “I regret not living in New York when I was young,” is the advice I constantly hear from friends, advising I move to NY. BUT, on the other hand, I don’t want to look back 5 years later and wonder to myself, where all those 5 years went. What’s a girl suppose to do … thoughts?

Enough diary talk! I’m looking forward to this week. I have two whooping events to attend. So look forward to those posts :)

Styling Tips: 1 Piece All Week

Another round of styling tips from StyleCaster. I was lucky to be asked by Meg to style one look for this H&M jacket…

me

This jacket is real versatile. There were a lot of ideas that came to mind when I first saw this piece:

- you could put a fur scarf type of thing and really put that oomph in your look

- you could wear it tucked in with trousers (tweed, denim, etc.. its really up to you)

- or you could simply layer! (you can’t go wrong with layering)

Other ways of transforming this piece here…

Transitioning: Fall Fashion

Fall is upon us and since I’m no longer in California, I’m forced to prepare for this weather… The StyleCaster office is filled with fashion forward girls who know how to best transition into fall …

Welcome Back To Reality

DSCN0013

Hi Everyone,

This past week has been a very busy, productive, and well I felt a bit detached from reality actually. Midterms, yes, these past couple days were horrible-at the same time I can’t complain because the subject matter is ooh soo interesting. I am a dork at heart. Just in case you’re wondering I’m absorbed in social psychology and organizational behavior at the moment- both have over lapping concepts and theories, that’s a relief. If you can’t already tell, I’ve decided to post a journal-diary-”hello world” type of post today, I guess it’s my way of making up for the past week  - _^.

Remember my trip to New York, and my promise that I’ll be returning in Fall … IT’S HAPPENING! I guess my last trip doesn’t completely prove me having visited NY, my visit was SO short 1 1/2 days to be exact :( But, nonetheless, I’m completely, totally, wholly, in every respect, (I should stop huh, I could go on and on …), 120 percent EXCITED.  I guess its because I’ve always had plans to go but after 4 years (yes, I know what you’re thinking, 4 years?!) it’s finally, finally happening! I’ll be going for an internship. Btw, If you’re interested/looking for an internship in the  magazine/publication industry you should definitely make Ed2010 your bible, they provide great resources and lots of “how to-do’s”!

On another note, my iphone has literally, LITERALLY become an extension of my body. I look at this situation and think for one, how sad, but on the contrary its made my life SO much easier. Perhaps that’s the flaw since I’ve become much more dependent on it …

What are the best applications out there? or maybe an app. I need to check out?
