Raf Simons delivered a “standout collection”
The collection is so appropriate for this season, lots of colors, bright blocks, minimal designs and clean silhouettes. I absolutely adore the look with the white basic T paired with the long pink skirt!

“Juxtaposing young, modern fashion with tradition
and history is what I do at Burberry. We all have this little
memory bank and we don’t always know what’s in there, but things
rise to the surface. It’s very easy to walk through the world with
eyes open but not seeing. I try to take things
in.”

Great to see “Digital Schedules” out! The social space only better shares to the public about your vision, looks, and well, let’s get one thing straight, it’s an organic form of communicating to the world what you have to present. SO WHY NOT?! One might argue it be madness to ignore the opportunity for transparency with your brand via the online domain. To put it another way showing people (journalists, buyers, fashion gurus, and plain you and I who are interested in this crazy industry) you’re work builds awareness, and that leads (not for all) to loyalty and sooner or later monetization, as a result from connecting with customers. I mean, there is a superabundance of online shopping sites carrying high-end designers/labels nowadays . Uhh, and why do you think bloggers are seated front row?! Yea …
Still others not quite ready to take the plunge might insist that digital strategies of this sort may cause a lack of control by the brand, perhaps things may get communicated wrong and spread like a virus through the blogosphere, etc. My opinion is THAT this could happen, but I would assume the probability of a situation arising would have already been discussed during project preparations… also, who knows, you might learn a thing or two about how people feel by their responses. Not that you need to listen but, maybe for the next project it could/should be a consideration. It’s a debate …
Alber Elbaz’s collections are always a favorite of mine, seee …. His Resort collection is minimal and has that oomph. It’s charming, feminine and these shots make me melt! I completely heart each look. The first image (with border) is my FAVORITE from his collection.
“Pre-collection isn’t about an image or a direction. It’s about a woman, a desire, a need,” Alber Elbaz said as he narrated hisLanvin mini-show in a manner at once thoughtful, amusing, and heartfelt. ”What do women want?”

The Bottega Veneta Cruise collection continues to explore the dominant woman … on holiday. The collection plays with different fabrics: leather, suede, and shimmery patent leather. The looks are super-cool and easily transition-able from daytime to night. I also fancy jumbo-looks-too-big-for-you bags. My favorites:
Michael Kors truly captured my attention with their watch collection back when I was in New York City last fall. The collection is very hip, chic, classic and for everyday. Their accessories collection was only the introduction … Michael Kors “had a dream location in mind for nearly every one of the 36 looks he showed” during the “Destination” Collection showing. The collection is a mixture of cool, neutral and safari like tones and patterns – that summer warm feeling.
The first look – cropped tee with reptile mini skirt – is my favorite. Get the rest of the collection here.

Resort 2011 collection showings have begun! And Stefano Pilati of Yves Saint Laurent presented the collection in the Upper East Side, NYC. This collection pretty much exemplifies “my style” – high-waisted pants/trousers, and vibrant colors for day and night. I appreciate the sense of elegance it conveys while still being classic to an extent.
My favorite looks:
Here‘s a peak at the rest of the collection.
Before I go discuss further some of you may still not fully understand ‘social media‘. I like to think it as media that is socially disseminated online. The web and Internet supports and continues to accelerate this type of communication and human interaction. It allows individuals to form communities. Again, due to the web there are no clear definitions for community. You might be wondering – I know I have – what constitutes a community. Schools? Towns? Companies? Forums? MySpace groups? Facebook fan pages? Tech sites? Fashion sites? Do they need to be off-line or on-line? I would say that all that I’ve listed rightfully can be deemed a community. More and more things are becoming if it already hasn’t, a blur. I tell you, technology. Crazy.
At the same time it’s wonderful. It’s paved the way and brought us 2009 Fashion Week shows right into our own homes.

Alexander McQueen did it

Vivienne Tam did it

Burberry Prorsum did it too!
At this point, fashion bloggers and enthusiasts around the world can all become fashion market editors. Next season, we can watch shows during dinner right in the comfort of our own home with friends! Don’t get me wrong, I would still attend shows over watching them with friends
It used to be SO exclusive and you would starve to attend the shows, NOW, times are changing and things are definitely becoming more open. All industries are clearly modifying their business models and PR/marketing strategies. For the fashion industry, however, I’m excited to see how we will embrace these changing times.
Oh Karl, you’ve done it again…

Feminine, puffy with that parisian influence. These two looks were my favorite, especially the one on the right!
